An Old Military Base – Derelict Exploring

Cambridge Military Hospital

The Cambridge Military Hospital, named after Prince George, was first opened on July 18, 1879.

During the First World War, this hospital acted as the first base hospital to receive injured soldiers. It was also the first place where plastic surgery took place in Britain.

After both the First and Second World Wars, the importance of military commitments declined, so civilians started to be admitted to the hospital.

The building eventually closed on February 2nd, 1996, as the cost of keeping the old building afloat became too high, and asbestos within the building posed a health threat.

What now?

Now, explorers use this building as a basis for exploring and taking photographs. They say the long, dark, creepy corridors create the perfect mysterious images.
